Missouri Aquarium Society April 2007 Workshop recap by David Ramsey

One of the huge tanks in the lobby has 6 -7 adult Farlowella Catfish, along with an amazing collection of snails, shrimps and other little algae eating catfish living happily in Sangrila. While checking them out it suddenly comes to you that there are 1" long baby Farlowella everywhere. Some bigger, some smaller. Dozens of them. Jerry explains that they have spawned several times and the youngsters grow up.

He then shows me a stream of eggs on the side of the tank. There has been enough commotion that the male has moved off of the eggs to hide in the seam at the side of the tank. When it quiets down, he moves back to protect the eggs.
